Hello! This is my new blog, The Movies Stripped where I will give my honest opinion regarding the movies I see and have seen (and that I love and love to hate).
So, most people who write about movies will have had some fancy film class and can tell you that the musical genre was overdone and the first of the genres to be flushed out, and that Citizen Kane was the best movie that has ever been made and will ever be made. They will look down upon the Transformers and the You’ve Got Mails of the movie world. This is not one of those blogs or columns. Yes, I will tell you when a movie, well, sucks, and when it could be better, but I will never ride a top my high horse and exclaim that the movie was a waste a film strip. (Well, maybe I would say that about Glitter and Gigli, but would you hold that against me? I think not.) I will write on movies that are recent, not so recent, and the classics. Just because a movie is fifty years old, doesn’t mean it doesn’t deserve a fresh look.
So, welcome. Read, comment, and bask in the glory that is the world of movies. For, my friends, movies are an escape into another world, another way of thinking, a refuge from the daily life we all lead, and for that, I will always admire them (whether this admiration turns into a good review, it is yet to be seen.)
